Introduktion
Udvidet datid beskriver en handling, der var i gang på et bestemt tidspunkt i fortiden (in progress at a specific moment in the past). Den bruges ofte sammen med simpel datid for at vise, at én handling blev afbrudt af en anden.

When indleder den korte, afsluttede handling (simpel datid). While indleder den længere, igangværende handling (udvidet datid).
